How many times have you heard, or even said to others I’m going to buy organic products in order to keep my baby safe from chemicals? The answer is probably the first month.

If you would just take a little time to find out what is in that toy your tot is putting in his, or her mouth you might change the way you shop for toys.

Let’s talk PVC, plastic (vinyl) in its original state, it’s a hard brittle and unstable material so a variety of chemicals must be added to it to make finished vinyl products.  When your tot plays with toys made with PVC, and puts them in their mouth they can end up ingesting these toxic chemicals.

Testing has been done on PVC toys designed for very young children, which included teethers, for the presence of hazardous additives known by the scientific term phthalates, which are used to soften plastic. All soft PVC products contain these hazardous chemicals.
